Each and every engine we build is bored and honed to exacting specifications to provide the correct piston to cylinder wall clearance. It is then dynamically balanced. We then blue-print the engine by file fitting piston rings to each cylinder, checking our main and rod bearing clearances with a bore gauge and micrometer (plastigauge is very inaccurate which is why we do not use it),check crankshaft end-play, etc......The motor is finally assembled and torqued down to factory specifications.
Our core policy on short blocks is: We must recieve a good condition short-block. If there is any damage to the block/girdle,crank, rods, pistons or balance shafts your core charge will not be returned. We have the right to determine what would be considered "good condition".if you are unsure of what condition your motor is then we would suggest paying the core charge and allowing us to source the parts.
We also have the ability to coat pistons and bearings with anti-friction and thermal coatings, cryogenically treat rods, pistons, blocks, etc........Powder coating and polishing is another option that we offer for those that want to go beyond the norm. Please call us to discuss pricing.
Note: The SFR short blocks are short blocks only. They do not come with head, cam, cam housing, oil pan, oil pick-up, waterpump, belts rollers, tensioners or oil cooler housings! Please specify which year engine you have so we can get you the right block(unless you supply us with a core). Failure to do so will leave you with a block that is not correct for your application and there is no returns!

2.7L Bored Engine with Darton MID sleeves- $7495
Core charge for short block-$1250
O-ring block- $300
Gun-drill rods- $225
Now you can buy a professionally assembled, balanced and bluprinted, short block with Arias pistons and Pauter rods without going through all the hassles of doing it yourself.
There is only one way to sleeve a block and that is the right way! Each core block is thoroughly inspected and checked before it is precision machined on a CNC to ensure the proper fitment of the Darton Sleeves. The first step is to have the CNC cut away the stock alusil sleeves to make room for the new Darton sleeves.Once the stock sleeves are removed the CNC cuts a bore for the darton sleeves The Darton sleeves are then pressed into the block with a special adhesive that allows the sleeves to stay in place once they are set.Once the sleeves are pressed in the block is surfaced.

After the sleevging process, each motor is bored and honed with a torque plate to exacting specifications to provide the correct piston to cylinder wall clearance. Once the bore and hone is complete the engine internals are dynamically balanced. After the balancing is completed the comes the blue-printing of the motor. Blueprinting is done to ensure the correct bore, piston to cylinder wall clearance, clearances of the pistons rings, main and rod bearings, crankshaft end play,etc..........
Part of the blueprinting process involves file fitting the piston rings to each cylinder to provide the correct rings gaps which allows you to make more power with less leakdown. After this we check our main and rod bearing clearances with a bore gauge and micrometer (plastigauge is very inaccurate which is why we do not use it) to get the appropriate clearances which will ultimately lead to prolonged engine life. The motor is finally assembled and torqued down to factory specifications. A stock block is good to about 500 horsepower.A Darton sleeved block is good for over 1000 horsepower! A core charge does apply.

3.0L Bore & Stroke Engine with Darton MID sleeves- $8995
Core charge for short block-$1250
O-ring block- $300
Gun-drill rods- $225
We decided to take it to the next level with this engine! This Darton MID sleeved block is the most bullet-proof motor ever concieved for the 944 turbo. You could throw a grenade at this motor and it will keep on going.
Each core block is thoroughly inspected and checked before it is precision machined on a CNC to ensure the proper fitment of the Darton Sleeves. The first step is to have the CNC cut away the stock alusil sleeves to make room for the new Darton sleeves.Once the stock sleeves are removed the CNC cuts a bore for the darton sleeves The Darton sleeves are then pressed into the bottom of the block with a special adhesive that allows the sleeves to stay in place once they are set.Once the sleeves are pressed in the block is surfaced.
After the sleevging process, each motor is bored and honed with a torque plate to exacting specifications to provide the correct piston to cylinder wall clearance.Once the bore and hone is complete the engine internals are dynamically balanced. After the balancing is completed the comes the blue-printing of the motor.Blueprinting is the process of checking and verifying the bore, piston to cylinder wall clearance, clearances of the pistons rings, main and rod bearings, crankshaft end play,etc..........

After this we check our main and rod bearing clearances with a bore gauge and micrometer (plastigauge is very inaccurate which is why we do not use it) to get the appropriate clearances which will ultimately lead to prolonged engine life. The motor is finally assembled and torqued down to factory specifications. | "Dry" Sleeved Engines |

2.8L Bored Engine- $6995
Core charge for short block-$1250
O-ring block- $300
Gun-drill rods- $225
Now you can buy a professionally assembled, balanced and bluprinted, short block with Arias pistons and Pauter rods without going through all the hassles of doing it yourself.
These engines are treated to the "dry" sleeving process which involves leaving the majority of the original factory cylinder in the block and pressing a steel sleeve into it. Each block is bored on a CNC machine to allow the new sleeved to be pressed in.

3.0L Bored and Stroked Engine- $8595
Core charge for short block-$1250
O-ring block- $300
Gun-drill rods- $225
In order to run safely past 450WHP, an upgraded bottom-end with forged internals is a must. Now you can buy a professionally assembled, balanced and bluprinted, short block with Arias pistons and Pauter rods, without going through all the hassles of doing it yourself.
These engines go through the same maching and assembly processes as the 2.8L Bored engines except we utilize a factory 3.0L crank to bring the diplacement up to 3.0L.
One of the desirable features of the dry sleeved engine is that, the sleeve itself is never in direct contact with the coolant .We have dry sleeved motors with almost 10 years on them and tens of thousands of miles and hundreds of track days without a failure.

| Alusil Bore Engines |

2.5L Engine- $2995
2.8L Stroker Engine- $6595
Core charge for short block-$1250
O-ring block- $300
Now you can buy a professionally assembled, balanced and bluprinted, short block with factory pistons and factory rods utilizing a factory block. We can even build you the infamous 2.8L stroker!
Each core block is thoroughly inspected and checked before it is precision machined to the proper bore. A treatment is then done to recoat the cylinder walls with Alusil to bring the block back to a factory finish. There are only a few places in the country that can do it properly. If this prcess is not done properly, the a failure will occur! Once the block is treated, the engine internals are dynamically balanced.

Knife-edge,Perp-drilled crank- $850
Knife-edge a process which shaves weight off of the non-critical mass of the crankshaft. This results in a lighter crank which "cuts" through the oil and revs up much quicker.By reducing the rotational mass you are taking stress off of the internals as well as improving throttle repsonse.
Our cranks are also perp-drilled and allen plugged. This process involves drilling out the rod bearings oiling passage on the crankshaft which improves lubrication to the rod bearing. This will prevent premature failures especially for those who frequent the track.

Pauter Rods-$975
Arias Pistons-$725
Ofcourse we can sell just the rods and pistons for a competitive price for those that want to take on this task on thier own.
